Refractory Testing

Robert J. Jenkins & Company’s API 936 laboratory technicians provide the assurance that refractory materials purchased and installed meet the specified physical property criteria that have been established to achieve optimum unit performance.

Material Pre-Qualification Testing: Provides assurance that purchased materials are capable of meeting the physical property requirements of the specifications before they arrive on site. This saves unnecessary shipping cost and lost time at site due to the refractory material not meeting the required standards.

As-Installed Testing: Provides assurance that the installed physical properties of the refractory material meet the requirements of the specifications.

Applicator Qualification Testing: Provides assurance that the refractory installer is capable of achieving the specified physical properties before any installation in Owner’s equipment has been performed.

Unless instructed otherwise, Robert J. Jenkins & Company prepares and installs refractory samples in the same manner that will be used in the field. The resulting material pre-qualification data becomes a reflection of what will be achieved in Owner equipment.
